Pros and cons of Hebrew in a Month app for iPhone and iPad

Hebrew in a Month app good for

This app does a good job at going through each concept that is needed before going onto the next topic. Its better than Rosetta Stones mobile app and a lot more affordable. Also unlike Rosetta, the pictures in this app all appear to be from Israel, so it provides a feel for the culture and not just the language. My only criticism is that a small amount of the pictures are to similar, making it hard to distinguish what theyre trying to convey. תמשיכו את העבודה הטובה שלום עליכם Kevin
Не работает на iOS 7, iPhone 5 It doesnt work on iPhone 5 under iOS 7. Please fix it!
I dont know how it does this, but Im learning so fast and so easily! They first show you a word, then a conjugated verb, then it puts them together and you start thinking in Hebrew. Phrases get longer and longer until you think naturally in Hebrew! There isnt a single word in English, so youre brainwashed with the audio and you learn like a child! Its fantastic...

Some bad moments

This app needs to be updated , and this time dont make any mistakes.
I started at ground ZERO with this app knowing NO Hebrew!! I am only on lesson 7. I love that there are no translations!! It means my brain doesnt waste time translating when often direct translations only muddy the waters of understanding the true meaning. Each lesson starts off with 6pics. They each 1x1 fill the screen as you hear an audio clip. Then the audio clips are played back 1x1 & you select the pic that goes with. Then a new set of 6 pics. The learning happens thru clever picture comparisons. Imagine a mother pointing at a fire & saying Hot! Then at Ice and saying COLD!! Then a cup of tea steaming HOT Tea, then a glass of milk, COLD Milk. After seven lesson I feel Ive solidly learned at least 30 words that I can pick out of sentences. & Ive even noticed a few written words bc they flash up on the introduction phrase of the 6 pictures at a time. This style of learning is much like a game. Great space filler for all those times youd otherwise check FB 7x in 3 minutes even tho theres nothing new :) Happy learning!
There are many annoying features of this app ... The content is ok... But the functionality is far from user friendly. There are big pictures and tiny print. Why? Its a language program.... Who wants annoying software tics when trying to learn a language. Heres a new word for the dictionary: crappapp.
Great app. I tried the free version first and thought I was doing something wrong when I didnt see the words translated in English. (then I read how it works). It amazed me how it teaches you Hebrew like a child would learn any language. My only negative is the half clothed young ladies for some of the pictures. I dont let the kids use this app.
This is a terrific app. I used the free version for several months and then finally bought the full version. I am very pleased with the content but I would like to see larger printing for the Hebrew words It helps someone with no Hebrew knowledge to learn the way children acquire language. Pictures and speech, vocabulary and grammar.
At first, I was confused about what the pictures were of. Was I saying "girl" or "run"? But by lesson 2, you realize what things are slowly just by going with it. This means you arent translating, the words just mean something. I did learn the aleph bet before doing this, and that was helpful to follow along with the words. My only complaint is the small words- thats what kept me from giving it 6 stars - well, that and there are only 5 stars.
